Dosage and direction

Possible side effect

The possible side effects of olanzapine are dizziness, irritability, insomnia, dry mouth, urinary retention, sedation, etc. They are extensively studied and the descriptions are available online.

Drug interaction

Never take this pill together with any of the following drugs: clozapine, halofantrine, certain phenothiazines like chlorpromazine, mesoridazine, and thioridazine, droperidol, levomethadyl, cisapride, certain antibiotics like grepafloxacin and sparfloxacin, pimozide
Interactions may also be triggered with the following drugs:  fluvoxamine, omeprazole, medicines for mental depression, anxiety, other mood disorders, or sleeping problems, carbamazepine, rifampin, tobacco from cigarettes, ritonavir, charcoal, levodopa and other medicines for Parkinson's disease, medicines for high blood pressure, medicines for diabetes.
Never conceal from your doctor any prescription or nonprescription/herbal medicines, dietary supplements, and other health products you are using before taking this medication. Always mention if you smoke, consume alcohol products, or use any drugs. All these items may also interact with the medication.

Missed dose

If you have missed your dose, take it as soon as you remember. However if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take your dose twice to make up for a missed one.

Overdose
